George Kwock Wah Yim, 83, of West Lafayette, passed away at home on December 2, 2013. Born in 1930 in Honolulu, Hawaii, he was the son of George Goon Hop Yim and Josephine Kekai Lau Yim. Following graduation from McKinley High School, he attended the University of Iowa. He enjoyed teaching and helping students during his 40 year career as a Professor of Pharmacology at Purdue. He loved his wife and family, basketball, fishing, bodysurfing, gardening, skiing, and the Boilermakers. The family dogs accompanied George and Ramona everywhere. Surviving family members include wife, Ramona; sister, Lorna Anderson, children; Paula, Donna, Marsha, David, Jonathan (wife Anarene); and 9 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Gladys Lam. Private funeral services will be held in accordance with his wishes. He is treasured and be missed dearly.
